About This Place

Welcome to Casa Alfonso, where culinary excellence meets the enchanting vibe of Aínsa, Huesca. Nestled right on C. Mayor, this gem boasts a reputation for serving some of the finest dishes one can encounter during a visit to Spain. As a food reviewer for Menuverge, I can confidently say that Casa Alfonso is not just a restaurant; it’s a vibrant experience that tantalizes your taste buds while immersing you in the local culture.

From the moment you step inside, the ambiance envelops you—a blend of rustic charm and modern elegance. The location is picturesque, especially for those who dream of enjoying a meal outdoors in the beautiful Plaza Mayor during the summer months. In the words of visitor Matthew Brown, the almond-encrusted foie balls alone are worth the visit, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality and creativity.

However, it’s not just about the food; the staff at Casa Alfonso play a pivotal role in curating a memorable dining experience. Though some patrons, such as Armand Heijster, noted initial slow service due to high demand, this was quickly overshadowed by the friendly and attentive service that followed, highlighting the restaurant's dedication to guest satisfaction.

Let’s talk highlights. The menu features a range of delightful options, with many diners raving about the €27 three-course meal. As Robin Rainton remarked, each dish met his expectations, proving that quality can stand tall even at a price that might feel steep for a small mountain village. The petit gâteau holds a special place in the hearts of many, with Ricardo DaSilveira declaring it the best dessert he's ever tasted, symbolizing the sweet finesse that Casa Alfonso brings to the table.

While some may argue that prices are on the higher end for Aínsa, the consensus is clear: the exceptional quality of the food and the stunning setting more than justify the investment. Even though there were minor hiccups in service noted by other guests, the overall experience remains overwhelmingly positive. A visit to Casa Alfonso is a celebration of flavors, a must-have journey for anyone seeking to indulge in the culinary art of this charming Spanish village.

In conclusion, whether you're after a casual dinner or a special occasion, Casa Alfonso promises a feast that lingers in both taste and memory. Your reservations are waiting; don’t miss out on one of Aínsa's culinary treasures.

Some of the best food I've had in Spain on my trip thus far. The almond-encrusted foie balls were stunning. Wish we'd been here in the summer to do outdoor seating in the Plaza Mayor.

We went for dinner here, the food of the menu was really good. Personal very friendly although it started with slow service and they forgot a few times some extras we asked for. I guess it was a very busy evening, later we got better attention. It is one of the more expensive restaurants in Ainsa and not that much better then others, although it was good quality, but 31.50 for cheapest menu is not cheap for a little mountain village, not even in Madrid i pay this.

Above all my expectations. From main dish to dessert and coffee, everything was spectacular. Great service, great location. A must place to go when visiting Ainsa. We had the petit gateau for dessert and it was the best I ever had.

We took the €27 menu (3 courses plus a small 'amuse bouche') & couple of drinks and were not disappointed. Of course this is a beautiful setting and many of the eateries in Ainsa are 'expensive' by Spanish village standards but... wow... very much worth it in this case.

Top starters OK mains bit small though and alright puddings. 28 euro menu of the day plus wine tad expensive.
